25 September 2026 marked a very special evening for Commercial Lodge No. 1391, as members gathered at London Road, in the Province of Leicestershire & Rutland, for the Lodge’s first meeting of the new season.
The evening was made particularly memorable by the unveiling of a brand-new Lodge banner, marking both the end of an era and the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the history of Commercial Lodge.
For many years, the Lodge’s previous banner had been a proud symbol of its identity and heritage, having stood witness through the momentous events of two World Wars and countless generations of Freemasons. After decades of service, the decision was taken to respectfully retire the historic banner and replace it with a new one.
The new banner was kindly donated by W. Bro. Roy Parker, who has been a member of Commercial Lodge for more than 50 years. His generous contribution is particularly fitting, representing a wonderful link between the Lodge’s proud past and its promising future.
The unveiling was more than simply the introduction of a new banner. It represented a new chapter for Commercial Lodge 1391 — one built on tradition, fellowship, growth and renewed enthusiasm.
The Lodge is looking forward to welcoming two new candidates for initiation during the coming season, with the first initiation scheduled to take place on Friday 23 October.
As the new banner takes its place within the Lodge, it will hopefully become a lasting symbol of the years ahead — carrying forward the traditions and values of those who came before, while representing a new generation of members and a bright future for Commercial Lodge 1391.
A proud history. A new banner. A new generation. A new chapter begins.
